Check-in Instructions

ADDRESS

—————————–

The tiki does not have a physical street address so if you are using the water shuttle for transport then you will go to their location. Instructions and discount code for booking tickets can be found in the Water Shuttle section below. For instructions on how to reach their location, use the following link:

www.s2skeywest.com/contact-us

If you are using a different charter company then you will tell them to take you to Pearl Basin.

RENTAL AGREEMENT

—————————–

A boat rental agreement must be completed, by law, in order to stay on this tiki boat and we will email you a digital version a few days before your stay, which can be completed entirely online. This form must be completed before 6:00 pm the day you check in.

BOATING SAFETY CARD

——————————–

In addition to the boat rental agreement, Florida state law also requires the person renting a boat to possess a Boating Safety Card while on the boat, if the person was born after 1987 (persons born prior to 1988 are grandfathered out of this requirement). We will need to have a picture of either the card or driver’s license (if a card is not required) in order for you to check in. There are 2 exceptions to this law:

1) You are accompanied by another passenger who already has this card or who is exempt from needing one

2) You have a Merchant Mariners Credential issued by the US Coast Guard or a Boating Safety Card issued by another approved state course

If you don’t already have a card and need to get one, this website can save you quite a bit of time and money by taking the shorter test to get a temporary card for boat rentals:

Here is a link to a very helpful study guide that will save you time in your process:

Study Guide

Remember, the rental agreement and safety card are both requirements by law so we can not be flexible about them, and if they are not completed you will forfeit your reservation.

PARKING

——————–

If you will be using the water shuttle service, you can park for free overnight at their dock location. If you plan to use another charter service who does not offer free parking, you can purchase parking from the city garage on the corner of Grinnell St. and Caroline St.

WATER SHUTTLE

——————–

Ship 2 Shore Key West, LLC is the business that provides on-the-water services in the local area including shuttle transportation to boats anchored in the harbor. To find out about available times, get directions and book your trip, visit their website at:

www.s2skeywest.com/shuttle-services

They offer private shuttle rides as well as general seating rides which are more affordable. Please note that private rides must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and general seating rides must be scheduled at least 2 hours in advance and no later than 3:00 pm the day of the trip. DO NOT wait until the last minute to book your trip or you may not be able to get a ride at all! You will need to provide the following information to book your tickets:

Coupon Code (you have to click the text near the top of the checkout page to enter this code) – tikisuites

Ship Name – Enter the name of the Tiki you reserved, either “The Original Tiki” or “The Grand Tiki”

Location – “Pearl Basin”

The rest can be left blank.

Treat these shuttle rides the same as an airline flight; arrive early because the boat leaves on-time and you will have to buy another ticket if you miss your trip. If you’re driving in from Miami, make sure you add at least 2 hours to your estimated driving time to account for delays along the way.

BAGGAGE

——————–

Be advised that unlike private shuttles, general seating shuttles have baggage limitations, which are handled the same as an airline, so we recommend packing light to save on your fare as well as the fact that there is minimal storage space on the tiki. If you have extra bags that you would like to have professionally stored you can contact Paradise Porters who offers luggage storage for $12/bag/day. Their number is +1 (305) 293-4000.
