Although Tiki Suites in Key West is considered the ultimate glamping experience, it is still classified as a boat.

Florida law requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 to have a valid Boater Safety Education Card in order to operate a vessel.

In addition to the boat rental agreement, Florida state law also requires the person operating the boat to possess a Boating Safety Card while on board if they were born after 1987 (persons born prior to 1988 are exempt from this requirement). We will need a photo of either the card or a driver’s license (if a card is not required) in order for you to check in.

There are two exceptions to this law:

1. You are accompanied by another passenger who already has a valid Boater Safety Card or who is exempt from needing one
2. You have a Merchant Mariner Credential issued by the U.S. Coast Guard or a Boating Safety Card issued by another approved state course
